Frequently asked questions.

Who can schedule a massage at Live Well Massage Therapy?

At this time, Live Well Massage Therapy is accepting female clients only . We understand this might cause some frustration and we do apologize for any inconvenience.

What’s the best massage for me?

If you are looking for stress and anxiety relief, I would recommend a Swedish massage. The primary focus of a Swedish massage is relaxation, circulation, and gentle release of muscle tension.

If you are having muscle tension and pain that effects your day to day, then a deep tissue might be right for you. The pressure can always be adjusted but the massage is slower and deeper than a Swedish massage. The primary focus is to break up muscle tension and help loosen tight fascia that contributes to muscle pain and stiffness.

How should I prepare for my visit?

If possible, remove all makeup and jewelry. Cell phones need to be off or at least on vibrate. Come dressed for comfort and try to hydrate prior to your appointment. Although I try my best to avoid this, oil and cream have a way of getting in the client’s hair so keep that in mind if you have somewhere to go afterwards.

What to expect during my visit?

Let your therapist know why you are there. Do you have pain, stiffness, or just looking to relax? Feel comfortable giving feedback and sharing your preferred pressure level throughout the massage. This is your time so please let us know if adjustments are needed. Clients are asked to dress down to their comfort level. The clients will be completely covered except for the body parts being massaged.

What to expect after the massage?

No matter what massage was chosen by the client, it is always important to hydrate afterwards. Massage increases blood flow and circulation. If congestion and tension is worked out of the muscles, clients will need to drink plenty of water to assist in the removal of toxins from the body. Through hydration, clients prevent removed toxins from settling back into the muscles and joints. If a deep tissue was chosen, be prepared to be a bit sore. A warm epsom salt bath is recommended. Being sore for the next 24-36 hours is normal.  Any soreness beyond that should be reported back to the therapist so the pressure can be adjusted next session.
